We collect information to provide better service to our users.
What information we collect
When you purchase directly from us, we collect order details about your transaction including your name and email address. We never handle your unencrypted credit card numbers. Credit card information is encrypted by your browser before being sent to our credit card processer.
When you activate a computer using an Unlock Code purchased from us or a third party, we collect device-specific information (such as unique application number, your hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers). We also store Application Registration information (including personal information) locally on your device.
When you contact StarPal, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues you might be facing to assist you and other users in the future with similar issues.
How we use information we collect
We use the information we collect to monitor license usage, to retrieve lost Unlock Codes, and to compile anonymous statics (such as percentage of users using an OS).
We do NOT use this information to send bulk emails, or share our email lists.
Transparency and choice
Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect, so that you can make choices about how it is used. For example, phone number is optional information (sometimes we may use phone number to retrieve lost codes for our users).
You can view and change locally stored Application Registration Information by editing the file called "License.html".
Where we can provide information access and correction, we will do so for free, except where it would require a disproportionate effort, or threaten the privacy of others.
Information we share
We do NOT share information for marketing purposes.
We will share personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of StarPal if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations, detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of StarPal, Inc, our users or the public as required or permitted by law.
We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information publicly. For example, we may share information publicly to show trends about the general use of our services.
We restrict access to personal information to employees and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
We work with the appropriate regulatory authorities, including local data protection authorities, to resolve any complaints regarding the transfer of personal data that we cannot resolve with our users directly.
